He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force having served during the Korean War and was a government employee for 37 years in the Department of Navy, having served the last four years in the White House. Mr. Houser was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Mary Clabo Houser; brother, Ted Houser and sister, Cecil Whaley. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Virginia Houser; sons, William W. Houser, Jr. and Robert C. Houser and their spouses Mary and Susan; grandchildren, Michael, Jack, Madeleine and John Houser; brother, Isham Houser and wife Faye; sister, Martha Brennan and husband Richard; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Memorials / Tributes, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Wednesday with memorial service to follow at 7PM in Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home.
