Violet Louise Ridenour of Prineville died at her home from complications from cancer Friday. She was 82.
A viewing will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Whispering Pines Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Carey Foster Hall, 590 SE Lynn Blvd. at the Crook County Fairgrounds. Interment will be at Juniper Haven Cemetery. Craig Jacobson and Teri Foster will officiate.
Mrs. Ridenour was born to Oscar and Mary (Ball) Eaton in Beaufort, S.C., on March 19, 1919. Her family moved to Arkansas when Mrs. Ridenour was 2, to Colorado when she was 6, and back to Arkansas when she was 14.
Mrs. Ridenour married Leslie Ridenour in Van Buren, Ark.
In 1938, the couple moved to Colorado and to Prineville in 1949.
Mrs. Ridenour was a homemaker. She enjoyed games, quilting, embroidering, crocheting, walking, gardening, camping and swimming.Her greatest joy came from fellowship with God, as well with family and friends.Survivors include her husband; five children, Jack Ridenour of Arkansas, Gene Ridenour and Don Ridenour of Prineville, Louise Arnold of Grants Pass, and Bill Ridenour of Elma, Wash.; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Ridenour was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
Memorial contributions can be made to Pioneer Memorial Hospice.
Whispering Pines Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
