The funeral for Elsie Juanita Webb, 81, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at Congregational United Church of Christ, Kiowa, Kan. The Rev. Marie Herrera will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hazelton, Kan. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
She was born June 2, 1928, in Hollis to Rufus Gunnels and Mary Margaret (Maggie) Hill Deela and died Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, in Attica, Kan.
She moved to Weatherford at the age of 16 and worked as a waitress. She married Marvin Dock Webb Dec. 29, 1946, in Weatherford. They moved to Attica and then to Kiowa in 1958. She worked as a waitress and later as a nurse’s aide. She became a certified nurse aide and certified medical aide. She was a member of Attica Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are three children, Kenneth Dearl Webb of Kiowa, Alice Maria Davis of Crescent and Ronald Dale Webb of Kiowa; one sister, Katherine Bales of Wilburton; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Webb; three brothers, and four sisters.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home Kiowa District Hospital or Hospice Care of Kansas.
