Florence Marie Hurst 79 of Cosby went to be with the Lord on June 11, 2009 at her home. She was of the Methodist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Bertha Denton; first husband Jim Harrison Large; second husband Lonas Hurst; son Kevin Hurst; grandson Ronald Michael Ramsey; great-grandchildren Mikayla Allen and Adrian Wilson; sister Myrtle Proffit; brothers Ray Denton and Jim Denton.
Survivors include daughter Linda (Don) Ramsey; sons Jimmy (Thelma Davis) Large and Charles (Rose) Large all of Cosby; grand children JC (Shell) Ramsey, Gary (Karen) Ramsey, David (Lisa) Ramsey, Donna (Michael) Allen, Charles and Violet Large all of Cosby; Heather (Lynn) Hartsell of Newport and Josh Davis of Cosby; great-grandchildren Dalton and Emily Allen, Isabella, Savannah, and Samuel Ramsey of Cosby; sister-in-law Frankie Denton; special nieces Pat Ball and Juanita Whitted all of Cosby and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 8:00 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2009 in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Leroy Morie officiating. The family will meet at Denton Cemetery Sunday, June 14, 2009 for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2009 at the funeral home prior to the service.
