Lillie Mae Suggs, age 89, of Newport, passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County.
She was a member of Mannings Chapel Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph (J.W.) Suggs; sons, Charles Ray Suggs and Donald Eugene Suggs; grandson, Donald Suggs; parents, Issac Alexander and Maggie Mantooth Maloy; brothers, Ike, Brooks, Frank, and Homer Maloy; sister, Myrtle Maloy Brooks, and daughter-in-law, Leta Suggs.
Survived by sons and daughters-in-law, John (J.A.) and Ellen Suggs, of Newport, Oliver (O.L) and Annette Suggs, of Newport, Bill and Betty Suggs, of Newport, and Frank and Dottie Suggs, of Parrottsville; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Phillip Hawk, of Parrottsville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Pearl Maloy, John and Ruth Maloy, all of Newport; grandchildren, Tamera Seehorn, Melissa smith, Mike Suggs, LeAnn Suggs, Marvin Suggs, Pamela Suggs Holt, Tina Sipes, Frank Suggs II, Joey Suggs, and Chad and Kimberly Hawk; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Sept. 30, 2001, at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Suggs officiating, with burial 11 a.m. Monday at Suggs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday prior to the funeral at Manes Funeral Home.
Manes Funeral Home is in charge.
