CROSSVILLE — Dec. 28, 1920 — March 27, 2011
Retired Major Dallas George Peavyhouse, 90, of Crossville, passed away March 27, 2011. Funeral services were held April 1 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Vern Daugherty officiating. Interment was held in Green Acres Memory Gardens with full military honors provided by the Veterans Honor Guard.
Mr. Peavyhouse was born Dec. 28, 1920, in Crab Orchard, the son of Thomas Asbury "T. A." and Mamie Hembree Peavyhouse.
He was retired from the United States Airforce and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Elizabeth Martin Peavyhouse of Crossville; daughters, Ann Mutter of Crossville and Martha Byers of McMinnville; son, Col. Martin Peavyhouse of Estill Springs; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Alice Foland and brother, Volney Thomas Peavyhouse.
Pallbearers were Charlie Norris, Anthony Peavyhouse, Chance Byars, Mark Barnett, Doug Tabor, Marshall Tabor and Joe Burgraif.
