ATCHLEY, RUBY CHRISTINE HALL - 101, born April 30, 1908, died February 13, 2010. Ruby was a member of Mountain View United Methodist Church. The daughter of Frank Oliver Hall and Nellie Era Goddard Hall. Ruby graduated from Young High School and received a B.Sc. degree in education from The University of Tennessee. A retired school teacher, Ruby taught 27 years in the Knox County School System. She was preceded in death by husband Loy Atchley; brother Merle Hall; sisters Anna Belle Hall, Era Hall Gervin, Irma Hall Bodenheimer and great nephews Bryan Bodenheimer and Jimmy Mays. She is survived by niece Joan Mays and husband Jim; nephews Jack Hall and wife Ollie, Robert Bodenheimer and wife Sally, W.A. Gervin and wife Sally; and several great and great-great nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 20, 2010, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Mountain View United Methodist Church, 3200 Maryville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920, followed by the memorial service at 2:00 p.m., with The Rev. Al Shaver officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts to the Memorial Fund at Mountain View United Methodist Church, 3200 Maryville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920.
