Mary Lee Jackson, age 76, of Ringgold, Georgia, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 16, 2003. She was a native of Newport, Tennessee, and she was the daughter of the late Horace and Sally Cureton, of Newport. She was a longtime resident of Ringgold, Georgia, and a longtime member of Hughes Avenue Baptist Church in East Ridge. She had served as Vice President of the PTA at McBrien Elementary School and she was a member of the Harris Hills Garden Club. She played softball for Standard Coosa Thatcher Softball Team and she coached girls softball in the East Ridge Youth Association. She was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Edwin Green, and brother, Charles Cureton. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, James Benny Jackson, of Ringgold, Georgia; daughter, Leigh Ann Jackson, of Chattanooga; two sons, Steve Jackson, and wife, Kippy Jackson, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, and Jay Jackson, and wife, Estee Jackson, of Ringgold, Georgia; sister, Martha Little, of Spencer, Tennessee; 6 grandchildren: Andy Jackson, Kacey Jackson, Kyle Jackson, Katelyn Jackson, Melita Salazar, and Misty Jackson; one great-grandson, Noah Jackson. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2003, at 3:30 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the East Chapel and on Thursday from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the East Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 2680, North Canton, Ohio 44720 or to the American Heart Association, 519 East 4th Street, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37403. Arrangements are by East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
