Charles Edgar Cureton, age 82, of Newport, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2002.
He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Cureton.
He is survived by his sons, Randy Cureton and Charles Cureton, Jr.; daughter, Trula Costner, all of Newport; sisters, Mary Jackson and Martha Little, both of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren, Todd Cureton, of Newport, Wendy Reed, of Bybee, and Amanda Cureton, of Newport; great-grandchildren, Megan, Marina, and Tanner Cureton, all of Cosby, and Casey and Kaylee Reed, both of Bybee.
The funeral will be held 8 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2002, at Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Steve Smith and Rev. Gary Anders officiating. Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Union Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral.
Manes Funeral Home is in charge.
