Charles “Chuck” William Mattern, age 87 of Sevierville, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011. Chuck attended Union Valley Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and LaNetta Mattern; daughter, Robin Fitzgearld; brothers, Bob and Perry Mattern; sisters, Patty Welsh and Jean M. Graham.
Survivors include his daughters, Jackie Finchum and Patricia Carr; sons, Michael, Bil, Joe, and Shada Mattern; brother, Milton Mattern; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; former wives, Eleanor Lewelling Mattern and Gwen Lamons Cody.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff of Sevier County Health Care Center.
Funeral service 10 AM Friday in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Hudson Chesteen officiating. Interment will follow in Eden Cemetery. With military honors provided by American Legion Post 104. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Thursday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com)
