He was a veteran of the United States Army, a mason and member of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his father, Charlie Raines. He is survived by his loving wife, Janice Sue Raines; mother, Ann Raines, of Newport; brother, Chuck Raines and wife, Ginger, of Newport; sisters, Joyce Bidwell and husband, Donnie, of Chattanooga; Sue Killion and husband, David, of Newport; Janice Green and husband, Jack, of Newport; Charlene Bullard and husband, Tommy, of Knoxville. He is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred and Norma Myers, and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet at Union Cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Friday for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service with Brother Craig Ward officiating.
