Massey, Lillian Ann –age 97 of South Knoxville, passed away Thursday, February 04, 2010. She was born March 17, 1912 in Knoxville. Lillian was an LPN at the Baptist Hospital and after retiring there she volunteered as a pink lady. She was an accomplished pianist, champion speller, a volunteer with the Fish Program and was an active member at Vestal United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Denver P. Massey; her father, Charles E. Clark; mother, Carrie Snyder Clark; daughters-in-law, Wilma R. Massey and Margaret E. Massey.
Survivors
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-laws, Dennie P. and Mary Massey, C. Gordon and Lois Massey; daughter and son-in-law, Ann Thompson-Rajaiah and Mitch Rajaiah; multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; her sister, Hazel Singleton; several nieces, nephew and special friends.
Service
Lillian will lie in state at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway, on Friday, February 5, 2010 at which time family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM. Graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Lot 219, section Q, space, East 2, Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 2:30 PM officiated by Rev. Wendell Smith. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Vestal United Methodist Church, 115 Ogle Avenue, Knoxville, Tennessee 37920.
