He was a member of Graystone Presbyterian Church, and served on the Board of Deacons for many years. Clyde is preceded in death by his parents N.R. and Ida Maples. Brothers; Marshall (Tip) Maples, Paul (Tom) Maples, Albert (Demp) Maples, J. Clifford Maples. Sisters; Hattie McCollum, and Alice (babe) Julian. He is survived by his wife of 71 years Barbara Stuart Maples, daughter, Amelia O'Bannon and husband Harold, son, Sam Maples, and wife Connie. Brother J.P. Maples, sisters; Lillie Campbell and Ruth Pierce. Grandchildren; Stephen O'Bannon and wife Kathy, Lydia Workman, Rebecca Hooper, and husband Carl, Mark O'Bannon, and wife Jennifer. Step-Grandson, Kaivon Kiumarsi. Great Grandchildren; Lindsay, and husband Travis Newton, Ryan O'Bannon, Jessice O'Bannon, Kalain Workman, Magen Workmen, Camille Hooper, and Kristen Hooper. Step-great grandson, Brice Kiumarsi. Brother-in-law Thomas S. Stuart and wife Marian. The family will receive friends Saturday August 2, 2008 11:00am until 1:00 pm in the Valley View Chapel of Highland South Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:00pm. Officiating Dr. Larry Hitchins. Entombment will follow at Highland South Memorial Park. In lieu of Flowers the family request that donations be made to Graystone Presbyterian Church in honor of Mr. Maples.
