Florence M. Thompson (Butch), of Cosby, Tennessee formerly of Dorchester, New Jersey, born on February 21, 1946, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children after her battle with cancer on May 9, 2014. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Burdick; mother, Florence Tomlin; and grandmother, Florence Roberts. She is survived by her father, Doug Burdick; her companion James Lafferty; her seven children (The Thompson Clan), Everett (Jr.) Thompson (Roni) of Newport, New York, Rodney Thompson of Newport, TN, Donna Green (Howard) of Cosby, TN, Tammy Thompson (Brad) of Port Elizabeth, NJ, Renee Robinson (Jimmy) of Sevierville, TN, Carrie Francis (Robert) of Dandridge, TN, Magen Thompson of Newport, TN and also James’s son, Sean Lafferty; grandchildren, Carissa, Rodney, David, Kimberly, Shawn Marie (Daniel), Cody, Mandi, Brittany, Megan (Dave), Ryan, Aaron, Sarah, Kara and Robbi Leah; great grandchildren, Hailey, Ryan and Kiersten; also surviving are her siblings, Bonnie (Paul) Schwegel, Bill (Valerie) Bonney, Wayne (Christine) Bonney, Paul (Georgia) Bonney, Bob Bonney, Thomas E. Harris, Kathy Parker, Bruce (Beverly) Tomlin, Nancy Newton and Charles Tomlin; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Father Bob Huffstetler officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday prior to funeral services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Dollywood Foundation, 2700 Dollywood Parks Blvd., Pigeon Forge, TN 37863.
