  [S4] Knoxville News-Sentinel (Tennessee), 19 Jan 2010. CARTER, WILLIAM JOE - age 75 of Knoxville went to be with the Lord Saturday January 16, 2010. An accomplished musician, lead singer and guitar player with "Billy C and the Rhythm Riders" Preformed on the "Mid day merry-go round". A member of Everhardt Baptist Church, lead singer and guitar player with the Everhardt Trio. Children, Steve, Mark, Robert, Wade, Ronnie, Donnie, Shane, Shelia, and Waylon Carter. Preceded in death by first wife: Mary Rose; second wife: Nancy Evelyn; Mother: Lida May; daughter Diane Carter; brother: Robert Carter; and long time great friend Jerry Pattishaw. Survived, by 17 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; many nieces and mephews; great nieces and nephews. The Carter family will receive friends Tuesday, January 19, 2010 from 6-8pm in the Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel, Funeral services will follow at 8pm with Reverend Russell Liles and Brother Roy Braden officiating. Family and friends will meet Wednesday at 10:45 in the Woodhaven Cemetery for an 11am interment service.
