Mrs. Ruby Ina Holt, age 88, of 1226 Sprouse Lane, Newport, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at 10:35 p.m. while at Jefferson County Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father Porter and Lily Cameron, husband Tillman Holt, step-daughters Gail Holt and Louise Holt Secary, daughter-in-law Lee Holt, son-in-law Freddie Askew, child Arnold Calfee Evans, grandchildren Bobby Holt, Bridgette Askew Phillips, Debbie Holt, Brad Askew, and Gary Calfee II.
She was the step-mother of Doyle Holt, Doris (Lorene) Dyke, Arvin (Bob) Holt, Louise Holt Secary, Carl Holt, and Gail Holt, the biological mother of Arnold Calfee Evans, and the mother of Gary Calfee, Tim Holt, and Sheila Holt Aikens.
She had a hearty helping of 64 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Old Time Gospel Missionary Baptist Church, Beech Street, on Thursday, January 21, 2010. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Glenn Ball and Josh Black officiating.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 22, 2010, in Union Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. at the cemetery for the interment.
