  [S4] Knoxville News-Sentinel (Tennessee), 1 Oct 2003. RHOADS, ONA BELLE GROVES - age 98, widow of William Allen Rhoads, Sr., passed away September 28, 2003 after a lingering illness. She had been at Hillcrest West Nursing Home for the past 6 months. She was born to the late Mattie and Willis Groves of Calhoun and Chatsworth, Georgia. Ona Belle retired at age 70 from Lakeshore Mental Health Institute as a Supervisor in The Food and Nutrition Department. She had been a 60-year member of St. James and later Trinity United Methodist Church. She had made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Mattie and Albert Mannis of Knoxville. She was blessed by having 7 children, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sons, Paul and Billy Rhoads daughter, Mary Stewart sons-in-law, Glen Lickliter, Sr., William Rex Stewart, Walter Waggoner and Tom Hawkins grandchildren, Sandra Lickliter, Billy Mannis, Tonya and Billy Stewart, Joshua and Michael Helton . Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Marylin Rhoads daughters and son-in-law, Jean Lickliter, Mattie and Albert Mannis and Betty Hawkins and friend Gary Hassel grandchildren, Tony and Clint Mannis, Vickie Mannis Monroe , Janice Lickliter Coatney, Glen Lickliter, Jr., all of Knoxville, Jackie Waggoner of Austin, Texas and Billy Rhoads of Kansas nephews, Raymond Groves of Orange Beach, Ala. and Doyle Groves of Cleveland, TN. Family and friends will meet at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday at New Gray Cemetery for a 12:00 noon graveside service, Rev. Kevin Atkins officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be grandsons.
