Carrie Maude Davis, age 87 of Townsend died Friday, May 14, 2004 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Townsend Church of God. Preceded in death by: husband, Sherald Davis; parents, Will and Maude Compton; brothers, Bill and Earl Compton. Survivors include: sons, Arthur Davis and wife Janie of Sevierville, Sherald Lee Davis Jr. of Townsend, Benny Davis and wife Linda of Townsend; grandchildren, Michael, Ronnie, Terry and Doug Davis, Becky Johnson, Donna Shultz; 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, May 16, 2004 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Jack Hitch officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 17, 2004 at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery for the interment. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m., Sunday, May 16, 2004, Trinity Chapel, Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 865-983-1000, www.smithmortuary.com.
