JONES, CHARLES EDWARD - age 66, went to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, January 7, 2010 at his East Knoxville home. Charles was a veteran of the United States Army. Following his discharge, he met and married his loving wife of 42 years. They owned their own shop and worked beside each other for 12 years at "This and That Shop." Charles loved working on things and hanging out with friends at the Hardee's Restaurant in Burlington. Preceded in death by his father and mother, Charlie S. and Dorothy Wydner Jones along with his sister, Gladys (Doe) Phillips of Tampa, FL. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Aileen (Huskey) Jones of Knoxville; three children, Jerry Ray (Faye) Jones of Knoxville, Lisa (William) Brickey of Townsend and Clyde David (Christy) Jones of Knoxville; eight grandchildren, Gregory Jones, Sara (William F.) Peck of Knoxville, Katie and C.J. Brickey of Townsend, Jerry Jones II, Kayla, Christa and James Jones of Knoxville; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Sue (Jerry ) Irwin of Tampa, FL and Mildred Faye (Kelly) Cannon of Sevierville; brother, Clyde W. Jones of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening, January 9, 2010 at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with Reverend Jim Haggard officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2:45 p.m. Sunday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel and travel in procession to Greenwood Cemetery for a 3:30 p.m. interment service.
