COGDILL, MAXINE PEARL FRENCH age 87 of Knoxville, went home to her Father in Heaven on Thursday, September 24, 2009. Maxine was born on August 30, 1922 on a farm near Knoxville to the late George and Naomi French. Maxine was joined in marriage to her husband of sixty years, W.L. (Bill) Cogdill on July 1, 1949. They then moved to Kingsport in 1950 where they raised their two children, Breck and Billie. They returned to Knoxville in 1993 where they became members of Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church. Maxine spent most of her life in devotion to her beloved husband, her children and her Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Nancy. Maxine is survived by her husband, W.L. (Bill) Cogdill of Knoxville; son and daughter in law, Breck and Tania Cogdill of Naperville, Illinois; daughter and son in law, Billie and Richard Bright of Chesterfield, Missouri. Maxine is also survived and deeply loved by her four grandchildren, Whitney Bright (Krister) Ungerboeck of O'Fallon, Missouri, Aaron (Rachel) Bright of West Chester, Ohio, Christopher Cogdill of San Diego, California and Alexandra Cogdill of Naperville, Illinois. Her grandchildren have given to her four great grandchildren, Ada and Hagan Bright of West Chester, Ohio and Morgan and Xander Ungerboeck of O'Fallon, Missouri. A celebration of Maxine 's life will be held at 1:30 P.M. Monday in the Chapel of Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church with Reverend Sam Cappel officiating, assisted by Reverend Roy Zinn. Interment to follow at Highland West Memorial Park. The family request that memorial contributions be made in Maxine 's honor to: Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church, Missions Fund-Ethiopia Project, 9132 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37923.
