MAXEY, NANCY FRENCH age 77, passed away Tuesday, July l5, 2008, at Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital, following a stroke and brain hemorrhage. Nancy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was a member of Beulah United Methodist Church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Burlington Chapter # 458, and also a Shrine Lady with Kerbela Temple. She was a four and one half year breast cancer survivor. Preceded in death by two husbands, and her parents, George and Naomi French. Survived by her husband, Stephen L. Maxey, Seymour; daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Lynn Julian, Knoxville; son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Lisa Smith, Oregon; step-daughters, Jan Maxey and LeAnne Norris and husband, Jason, all of Knoxville. Also survived by sister, Maxine Cogdill and husband, W.L., Knoxville; sister and brother-in-law, Myra Jane and Wayne Clabough, Morristown; grandchildren, Dale Dye and wife, Jayne, Texas; Jon Dye and Finance'; Jennifer Jennings, Nashville; Emily McPherson, Knoxville; Holly Smith and husband, Justin Payer, South Carolina; Tanner and Madison Norris, Knoxville; and five great grandchildren; special cousin, Mary Ellen Meador, Knoxville; special friends, Edith Boyd, Nashville; Tom and Marlene Hutchins, Kodak; Ronnie and Linda Taylor, Deanna Bland, all of Knoxville; and several nieces and nephews. The family will be receiving friends from 4 to 6 pm at Berry Funeral Home on Sunday, July 20, 2008. Family and friends will meet on Monday at the cemetery of Beulah United Methodist Church, 907 Kimberlin Heights Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920, at 11:00 am, July 21, 2008, for a graveside service, with Charles Burnett officiating. There will be an Eastern Star Service following receiving friends. Pallbearers, Tony James, Lynn Julian, Dale Dye, Jon Dye, Jason Norris, Tom Hutchins and Wayne Clabough.
