He was preceded in death by his wife, Zula Franklin Southerland; brother, John Southerland; sisters, Lily Southerland Cogburn, EfÞe Southerland Huff and Frances Southerland Freshour. He is survived by his brother, Horace Southerland of Parrottsville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue Ella and Jess Hux of Kings Mt., N.C., Hazel and Macon Shelton of Parrottsville, and Ida and Lloyd Cashen of Parrottsville; sister, Juanita Southerland Hux of Parrottsville; a host of nieces and nephews; special friends and caregivers, Jeff, Judy, Emma, Sandra and Oree Cagle, all of Del Rio; and special company every day, Anna Elizabeth Cagle (age 3). The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Monday at Manes Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Cagle and Rev. Ransom Hall officiating. Burial was in Faubian Cemetery. Manes Funeral Home was in charge. [S1] U. S.
