Herbert C. Wiley, 86, of Newport, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Tennova Newport Medical Center.
He retired from BASF in 1991 after forty years of employment having only missed five days during that time.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ethel Burke Wiley, brothers, Clifford and Minnis Wiley, sister, Mabel Lee Hurley, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. Clarence and Tura Mae Binkley.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 67 years, Eloise Wiley, children, Rev. Larry E. (Martha) Wiley of Greeneville, Tura (Woody) Lawson of Newport, grandchildren, Dr. Douglas (Melanie) Wiley of Chesnee, SC, Johnny Denton of Telford, TN, Laurann (Joseph) Pierce of Greeneville,TN, Sierra (Dennis) Wilds of Newport, TN, seven great grandchildren, sister, Elizabeth Williams, brothers, Howard (Betsy) Wiley and Rev. Ray (Judy) Wiley all of Newport, several nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Family will receive friends 5pm-7pm Monday, January 25, 2016 in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 7pm with Dr. Charlie Boggan officiating. Interment will be Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 10am in the Union Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Southside Baptist Church- Newport, Crossroads Church- Newport, or Central Baptist Church- Erwin, TN.
