CHASTAIN, BLAKE - age 80, of Maryville, passed away Tuesday evening, November 6, 2001, at the family home. He was of the Baptist faith and a Veteran of the U. S. Navy, having served during World War II. Preceded in death by first wife, Lucille Chastain; brothers, Claude and Joe Chastain. Survivors: wife, Martha Chastain; son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Sharon Chastain of Maryville; grandchildren, Jenny Pearson and Autumn Chastain; two great-grandchildren; step children, Judy Norden of Knoxville, Charles Norden of Maryville, Nora Bivens of Morristown, and David Norden of New York; sisters, Mertice Poe of Maryville, Sue Stinnett of Indiana, and Nell Teffteller of Maryville, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 7 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2001, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Dr. Jerry Russell officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1 p.m. Friday at Union Hill Cemetery in Swain County, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Jill B.
