BREWER , HOLBERT "HUCK" age 90, of Knoxville, passed away 8:00 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2008 at St. Mary's Residential Hospice. Mr. Brewer was a member of Chilhowee Hills Baptist Church, a US Army Veteran of World War II, a member of Oriental Masonic Lodge #453, and a retired grocer with A&P Stores after 43 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elva Brewer ; infant son, Joe Edward Brewer ; parents, Amos and Rosa Brewer ; three brothers; and three sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Trinity Hills Assisted Living, 4611 Ashville Hwy., Knoxville, TN 37914 or St. Mary's Residential Hospice, 7447 Andersonville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37938. Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Johnny Branch of Knoxville, Pat and Jerry Snyder of Strawberry Plains; sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Judy Brewer of Knoxville, Lynn and Pat Brewer of Morristown; son, Wayne Brewer of Knoxville; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; special niece and husband, Bobbie and Joe Johnson; several nieces and nephews; special friends and caregivers at Trinity Hills Assisted Living. Family and friends will meet at 2:15 p.m. Sunday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for a 2:30 p.m. graveside service and interment with Chaplain David Collins and David Oxendine officiating. Full military honors will be provided by Tennessee Army National Guard. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at N. Broadway.
