SLIGER, LAURA J. - age 93 of South Knoxville, went to be with her Lord, Saturday, November 22, 2003. She was the oldest member of First Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Sliger was preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. Sliger son, Walter Sliger and great grandson, Chris Evans. She is survived by her son & daughter in law, Bill and Betty Sliger daughters, Jane Evans, Betty Gordon and Aileen French all of Knoxville 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Brakebill Nursing Home and the 3rd floor staff at Baptist Hospital for their kind care. Funeral service 7:30 p.m. Monday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with Rev. Dale Walker and Rev. Billy Spickard officiating. Family and friends will meet Tuesday at Woodlawn Cemetery for an 11 a.m. interment service.
