Jerry Eugene Rader, age 57, of Parrottsville, passed away, Sunday, December 6, 2009 at his home, after a courageous battle with Lung Cancer. He was a member of McGaha Chapel Church, of Cosby and worked as a auto mechanic. He was preceded in death by his dad, Grady Rader; an infant brother, Eddie Rader; grandparents, Hunley and Sarah Rader and Eugene and Rhoda Smelcer. Jerry loved the outdoors and was a avid hunter. As of September 2006 he would then turn his life over to being a Christian, and going to church as long as his health permitted. He loved going to church and telling everyone that he met, about the Lord. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Judy Rader; daughters and sons-in-law, Traci and Tony Helton, Crystal and Dallas Sane; mother, Alice Rader all of Parrottsville; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Laura Mae Rader; mother-in-law, Juanita Bowers; brothers-in-law, Doug Bowers, Richard Bowers and wife Barbara, all of Greeneville, Charles Bowers and wife Joyce of Morristown; sister-in-law, Phyllis Harrison and husband Kenny of Greeneville. He will be sadly missed by his precious little dog, Sadie, with whom they were very close and had a special bond. We would like to give special thanks to Dr. Kenneth Susong and Caris Home Health Care. Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm Tuesday, December 8, 2009 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Keith Presnell and Rev. Craig Cutshaw officiating. The family will meet at Manes Funeral Home 12:30 Wednesday, December 9, 2009 to go in procession for a 1:00 pm interment in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Stewart Kilgore, Dwight Presnell, Brock Bowers, Jeff Harrison, Chris Smelcer and Jimmy Seaton. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Tuesday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral.
