CLARK, VERGIL C. - age 53 of Friendsville, died Thursday, August 16, 2001, at his home. He was a Vietnam veteran retired from the US Post Office and was owner of Security Alarms Ltd. He was an avid fisherman, NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching his nieces and nephews participate in sports. Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his mother, Harriet Horne Clark. Survivors include: wife, Vickie Starrett Clark; father, James J. Clark; sister, Janie Clark; brother an sister in law, Doug and Sharon Clark all of Kingsport; daughter, Christie Clark; brothers in law and sisters in law, Doug and Tammy Murphy of Friendsville, Larry and Candy Robinson of Maryville, Tony and Debbie Robinson of Friendsville; brothers in law, Daniel Robinson of Maryville, James Robinson of Friendsville; father in law and mother in law, James and Betty Robinson of Friendsville; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Loree Bechtold, Elias Askins, Ricky Wells, Phil and Beverley Woodruff. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville. Family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. Monday at the Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville for a graveside service with Rev. Mike Stout officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1818 Memphis, Tenn. 38101. McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville in charge.
