Harmony Baptist Church and retired from Sanitary Laundry & Dry Cleaners where he was manager for many years. He was preceded in death by parents, G.W. and Beulah Atchley Goforth. Also preceded in death by infant son, Arnold; 6 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Lucille Helton Goforth; sons and daughters-in-law, Curtis & Sandi Gail, Tim & Tracy, Dennis & Sandy, Rick & Beverly Goforth; daughters & sons-in-law, Brenda & Bill Blakely, Sandi & Ray Goforth, Beulah & Ernie Adams, and Nancy & Steve Ray; 31 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; special cousin, Jack Lanning; and many relatives & friends.
