(September 8, 1934 - September 22, 2014) R. Merle Templin, age 80, of Newport, Tennessee is finally cancer free. On September 22, 2014, there was no more suffering, and no more pain. He has been healed and is now 100%! He joined in eternity his beloved wife Ethel Dockery Templin; father and mother, Arthur and Maude Templin; two brothers and one sister. He leaves behind a sister, Mary Templin Gray, from Dandridge, Tennessee; special nephews Michael Gray and Dalton Lunsford; and several nieces and nephews. He was a veteran, having proudly served in the United States Army for four years, and retired from BASF after more than 30 years of service. He was known for his quick wit and sense of humor and enjoyed reading and keeping up with current events. He had a generous heart and a gentle soul and will be greatly missed. A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Resthaven Memorial Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
