Curtis Britt, 83, of Clinton, died at 10:55 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, 1997, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mr. Britt was a mechanic at the former Valley Pontiac in Oak Ridge.
Born in Roane County on Feb. 18, 1914, he was the son of Dave and Minnie Lee Moyers Britt.
He is survived by three daughters, Kay Brown and her husband, Bruce, of Powell, Shirley Farmer of California and Ruby Gregory of Cleveland; six sons, Curtis "Bud" Britt Jr. and Gerald Britt and his wife, Angel, all of Oak Ridge, William Britt of Washington state, Ray Britt of Greeneville, George Eddy Britt of Washington, D.C., and Charles Britt and his wife, Flora, of Cleveland; and three stepchildren, Robin Barker and her husband, Alan, and Lester Dunn and his wife, Brenda, all of Oak Ridge, and David Butler and his wife, Joey, of Oliver Springs.
Mr. Britt is also survived by two brothers, Joe Britt of Knoxville and Clifford " Tubb " Britt of Rockwood; and by 25 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
Annie Britt, Mary Stevens and the staff of Key Springs Residential Home were considered special friends.
The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs with the Rev. Roy Massengale and the Rev. Leon Weaver officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Anderson Memorial Gardens, Oliver Springs Highway, Clinton.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
