CONNER, VERTIE MAE - age 97, of South East End Rd., Strawberry Plains, Tenn., passed away Thursday, March 20, 2003, at the home of her daughter. She was a member of Paw Paw Hollow Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Tommie Conner parents, Robert and Vergie Brewer brother and wife, Eddie and Lena Brewer. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Mary Frances and John Wells son and daughter-in-law, J . C . and Irene Conner granddaughters, Brenda Cruce of Knoxville, Judy and David Meczywor grandson and wife, Tommy and Julie Conner, all of Strawberry Plains seven great-grandchildren eight great-great grandchildren special friend and neighbor, Bobbie Henegar. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 22, 2003, at 8 p.m. in the Evergreen Chapel with Rev. Mike Henegar officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6-8 p.m. Family and friends will meet at Evergreen Chapel 1:30 p.m. Sunday and proceed to Thorn Grove Cemetery for a 2:30 p.m. interment service. Pallbearers will be great-grandsons. Evergreen Chapel and Memorial Gardens, in charge.
