Joan Rutherford age 78 of Newport passed away Thursday, November 7, 2013 at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reba and Robert Sentels; husband, Greer Rutherford; daughter, Rhonda Prince; sisters, Judean McGalliard, Deloris Cody and Bobbie Gail Sheets , grandson Richard Lane, and son in law Lewis Baxter She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Barton of Dandridge; grandchildren, Mark Lane of Newport; Crystle (Frank) Duncan of Dandridge; great grandchildren, Taylor and Bradley Owens of Seymour, Mark Scott Lane and Pailyn Lane of Bybee, great-great-grandson Bentley Owens, granddaughter-in-law, Missy Lane. The family would like to say a special “Thank You” to Dr. James Williams and Smoky Mountain Home Health & Hospice and Staff, special nurse Denise Howard and Chaplain Glenn Bradley; also special caregivers, Vera Bradly, Patricia Cody, Linda Brandriff and special caregiver and friend, Melissa Ramey. Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday November 10, 2013 in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marty Eddinger and Rev. James Suggs officiating. Entombment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Mausoleum. Family will receive friends Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Manes Funeral Home.
