CARTER, RAY J. - went to be with Jesus Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at Shannondale Health Care Center. He was a retired carpenter. Mr. Carter was an Army Veteran and served time in Okinawa for 1 ½ years. Preceded in death by parents Harvey and Laura Carter, brothers Bruce, Jack and Joe Carter and a sister Dorothy Riseden. Left to mourn his passing, loving wife of 52 years Grace Carter daughter and son in-law, Debbie and John C. Pipes loving granddaughter, Alicia brothers Oscar and wife Pat, William and wife Bertha sisters, Lula Belle Nealy and Mary White and her husband George sisters in-law, Naomi and Mary Carter. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the wonderful staff of Shannondale Health Care and to Oscar and Rose for all the rides. In lieu of flowers contributions may be to the charity ones choice. Mr. Carter is at Highland West where the family will receive friends Thursday, August 12, 2004 from 5-7 with a service to follow at 7 pm with Reverend Steve Raby officiating.
