GADDIS, JOHN CORBIN, JR. - age 85, went home to be with the Lord, March 9, 2013, after a lingering illness. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Karns and a member of the Kerbela Shriner's Beaver Ridge Lodge #366 and Scottish Rite. A proud World War II Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Retired as a time keeper and supervisor, after 46 years at K-25 Plant Oak Ridge. Served 32 years on the Board of Directors and Vice President of Enrichment Credit Union (K-25 CU). Preceded in death by loving parents John Sr. and Vesta Gaddis; brothers, Jimmy, Charles, and Glenn and sisters, Wilma and Christine. Survived by devoted wife of 64 years, Wanda Edsell Gaddis; loving daughters, Pam Cope and husband David, Karyn Sloas and husband David; grandchildren, Heather Rankin and husband DeWayne, Sean and Hannah Sloas and great-grandchildren, Blake and Cole Rankin; brother David Gaddis; sisters Mildred Benton and Rosemary Davis; brothers-in-law, W.H. Jr., Fred. James, and Ronald Edsell; and many nieces and nephews. He loved his bulldog and companion Scarlett. Special thanks to the nurses of the Home Option of Oak Ridge and U.T. Hospice. Service 8:00 pm Tuesday Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City, Pastor Michael Thomas officiating. Family and friends will meet at Mynatt Funeral Home by 10:30 am for interment 11:00 am Wednesday Lynnhurst Cemetery. Pallbearers: David Cope, David Sloas, DeWayne Rankin, Sean Sloas, Blake Rankin, and Cole Rankin.
