MAYS, HELEN LOVEDAY "GRANNY" - age 85, of Knoxville, was called home to be with her Lord on June 11, 2010 surrounded by her family. Born November 24, 1924. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She adored her grandchildren, loved to watch sports and never turned down something sweet. She was a member of Lonsdale United Methodist Church and was retired, from National Linen Service. Helen is proceeded in death by parents, Mynatt and Mary Loveday; son, Larry "Brubby" Mays; sisters, Pauline Loveday, Mildred Foley and Ollie Loveday; brothers, Bud Loveday and Charlie Loveday. She is survived by her husband, of 64 years, Lowry Mays; children, Alan and Kathy Mays, Denise and Curtis Winton, Charles and Becky Mays and Carol Mays Lattimer; 12 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Also survived by brother, Pete Loveday; sister, in law, Edna Loveday; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bruce and Betty Mays, Harold and Paula Mays and a host of special nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Monday June 14th at Lonsdale United Methodist Church. A celebration of Helen's life will begin at 8:00 pm with Rev. Aldana W. Allen officiating. Family and friends will meet at Highland Memorial Cemetery at 1:45 pm on Tuesday June 15th for a 2:00 pm interment. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lonsdale United Methodist Church Building Fund, PO Box 5565, Knoxville, TN 37928. Arrangements by Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.
