McCARTY, L. CAULIE - age 91, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, October 22, 1998, at home. Member of Asbury United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Walter and Minnie McCarty; wife of 67 years, Viola B.; brothers, Lloyd, Herb, Hob, Dude, Pete, Rufus and Owell; sisters, Ethel and Alma. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Bill Clabo; grandchildren, Neil Clabo, Jill Sams and husband, Ben; great-grandchildren, Tate, Bo and Peyton Sams; brother-in-law, Fred Burkhart and wife, Helen; sisters-in-law, Nina Burkhart, Edith Scandlyn, Lucille and Alma McCarty; several nieces and nephews; special nieces, Sammie Lynn Puett, Connie Warren, and Becky Coker; caregivers, Louise and Ann Couch; caring neighbors, Gerald Blake family and Jim Armstrong family. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Monday at Asbury Cemetery for an 11 a.m. graveside service with Rev. Ron Ramsey and Rev. Wallace Newman officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Asbury United Methodist Church, 2822 Asbury Rd., Knoxville, 37914. Family will receive friends 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.
