He was preceded in death by his father: John Elmer McClanahan Sr., mother: Martha Jane Moody McClanahan, brothers: Brickey, Floyd, and Staley McClanahan, sisters: Erma Rhyne, Bernice Ridge, Nina Griffin, and Elsie Sparks. He is survived by his sister: Unav Veal, and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the many close friends and staff members at Kindred Healthcare Maryville. The family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, at Kagleys Chapel Cemetery for a graveside funeral service.
