BERRONG, JAMES RASTUS, JR. - age 73, of Maryville, passed away Sunday afternoon, March 23, 2003, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He attended Knob Road Baptist Church, retired from ALCOA after 44 years of service, member of the 25 Year Club and a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Preceded in death by parents, James R. and Carrie Berrong brother, Billy Berrong and sisters, Susan Nelson, Vesta Davis and Margaret Harris. Survivors include wife, Wilma Dean Sparks Berrong son, James Daniel Berrong of Maryville daughter, Donna Gail Young of Maryville son-in-law, Danny Boone of Maryville grandsons, Jason and Justin Boone brother, Wayne Berrong of Maryville brothers-in-law, Dale, Tom and Charles Sparks, all of Maryville sisters-in-law, Wanda McGhee, Doris White, Betty Boyce and Bobby Lambert, all of Maryville special friend, Howard Law of Alcoa. Funeral service 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Jerry Little officiating. Interment 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
