He was a member of Six Mile Baptist Church. He was retired from Alcoa , was a member of the 25 year club, also served in The United States Air force. Preceded in death by his daughters, Pam and Diane Sparks; father, Nathan Sparks; mother, Nora Chambers Sparks; brothers, Harley and Guy Sparks; sister, Inez Sparks Simerly. Survived by wife, and best friend of 55 years Leola Payne Sparks; daughter, Sandra Sparks Campbell of Nashville; grandsons, Jason Williams of Knoxville, Dylan Reagan of Maryville, Lanny, Matthew and Travis Campbell of Nashville; granddaughter, Jessi Sparks and special friend Jason Cummings of Maryville; great granddaughter, Caitlin Williams of Knoxville; great grandson, Braden Williams of Knoxville; sisters, Pearl Harmon and Patricia Powell of Maryville; brother, Mack, Charles and Don Sparks of Maryville; special sister in law Betty and husband Sam Saputo of Michigan; several nieces and nephews; special caretaker, Mildred Hicks of Louisville. Funeral service 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Bill White officiating. Graveside service and interment to follow at New Providence Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
