Donald E. "Ratchet" Carruba; age 72, of Friendsville, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2012 at his home working and doing what he loved to do. He was a member of Unitia Holiness Church. Ratchet worked as an ASE and FORD certified mechanic for 25 years at Maryville Ford dealerships and at his home in his garage helping his many friends. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a true friend who will be loved and cherished by those he leaves behind. He was preceded in death by: Parents, Carl Carruba Sr. and Mazie Carruba Johnson; Grandmother, Lula Mae Bryant; and Brother, Carl Carruba Jr. Survivors include: His true love and devoted wife of 49 years, Marion Carruba; Son and Daughter-in-law, Timmy and Belinda Carruba of Dallas, GA; Daughter and Son-in-law, Tammy and Doug Frushour of Burlington, KY; Half-Sister, Rita Morgan of Friendsville; Grandchildren, Alexander and Kelsea Carruba and Tyler and Dylan Frushour; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members also survive. A Celebration of Ratchet's Life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2012 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel for the entombment. Memorial contributions may be made in Ratchet's honor to the Guillian Barre Syndrome Foundation @ 104 ½ Forrest Ave., Narbeth, PA 19072.
