Ingram, Berta Mae Walker – age 76 of Knoxville passed away Monday, March 16, 2009, after a lingering illness. She was preceded in death by husband, John Wesley Ingram; brother, Donald Walker; sisters, Oma Lee McDaniel, and Ruby Faye Walker; daughter, Tammy Lee Ingram; parents, Edith and Ivan Haworth and Charlie R. Walker. Survived by daughters and son-in-law, Pamela Witt, Jean Rader, Mona (Roy) Southerland; son Wesley (Sharon) Ingram; sons-in-law, John Rader and Max Witt; grandchildren, Wendy (Bo) Merritt, Jeannie (Darrell) Watson, Jodie Rader, Jenna Rader, Shane Southerland, Jonathan (Jennifer) Southerland, Derrick Ingram, and Brittany (Patrick) Evans; great grandchildren, Carter Merritt, Aiden and Miles Watson, Jada Southerland, and Jeremiah Evans (due in July); brothers, Virgil (Bertha) Walker, Jack (Renee) Walker, and Ikie Haworth; sisters, Ima Jean Foster, Inez Sparks, and Nyoka (Tom) Teague; special brothers-in-law, Gilford McDaniel and James Foster; sister-in-law, Ruth Carmichael; special friend, Carroll Spoons; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Wednesday, March 18, 2009, in the chapel at Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Dexter Merritt and Rev. Brian Lucas officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 AM Thursday at Bookwalter Cemetery for an 11:00 AM interment. Pallbearers: Derrick Ingram, Patrick Evans, Bo Merritt, Shane and Jonathan Southerland, and Chris Howerton. Honorary pallbearers: Jimmy Foster, Max Witt, Roy Southerland, and Benny Bailey. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday at Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, 865-523-4999.
