STOOKSBURY, HELEN DAPHINE CHASE - passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, October 8, 2009 at her home. Mrs. Stooksbury was a longtime member of St. James Episcopal Church, serving on the altar guild and as a member of the Daughters of the King. She was a loving mother, grandmother and a loyal friend to many throughout her long life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Templin Stooksbury, Sr.; and by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry L. Chase. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert Templin Stooksbury, Jr. and wife Judy; granddaughters, Amy Ayres and husband Michael, Ashley Duggan and husband Adam, Abby, Anna and Allison Stooksbury; great grandchildren, Keegan and Campbell Ayres, Mackenzie and Baylor Donald and Addison Duggan; and special nieces, Bobbi Garrison and Betty Koon. The family would like to extend a very special thank-you to Shelia Lambdin for her loving care to Mrs. Stooksbury. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Lynnhurst Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service with The Reverend Albert Minor officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. James Episcopal Church, 1101 N. Broadway, Knoxville, TN 37917.
