FOLDEN, HASSIE SMITH (GRANNY) - age 103, of Knoxville, passed away 2:07 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 1999 at Hillcrest West Nursing Home. She was a member of Oakwood United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Benton Folden; daughter, Dorothy Folden and son, B.L. Folden. Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Mildred and Ernest Easterday, Emma Lee and Chet Perkins; daughter-in-law, Connie Folden; grandchildren, Billy Perkins, Linda Koontz, Karen Kitts, Tina and Brian Folden; great-grandchildren, Todd Perkins, Summer Harmon, Lori Mayfield, Brandon Kitts; great-great-grandchildren, Jordon and Megan Harmon, Kaitlyn Mayfield and Shelby Perkins; sister, Edna Keith; sister and brother-in-law, Geneva and George Bull; brother and sisters-in-law, Loran and Dorothy Smith, all of Knoxville; Marvin and Nadell Smith of Houston, Texas. Funeral service will be 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Stevens Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Charles Parker and Rev. John Jackson officiating. Family and friends will meet 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the main entrance to Greenwood Cemetery for a 10:00 a.m. graveside service and interment. Pallbearers: Billy, Donnie, Jim, Brandon, Scott, Brian and Clay. A special thanks goes out to those at Hillcrest West Nursing Home for their help.
