Mary Neal Gamble obituary [S4] Knoxville News-Sentinel (Tennessee), 12 Oct 2000. GAMBLE, MARY NEAL - age 85 of Maryville, died Monday, October 9, 2000 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was born in McMinnville, Tenn., the daughter of the late John R. and Julia Frances Givens Wilson and was a graduate of the Vanderbilt School of Nursing in Nashville. Mary Neal Wilson came to Maryville as the Blount County Health Nurse. After coming to Maryville, She met and married M. H. Gamble, a young lawyer with the law firm of Goddard, Gamble and Goddard. Mrs. Gamble was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church where she was an active member of the Women's Association. She loved working with flowers, was a member of the Chilhowee Club Reading Group and enjoyed a life time association with two bridge clubs. Mary Neal was beloved by many members of her community. Survivors include: daughters, Gail Bryant of Maryville, and Nancy Bromley of Atlanta, Ga.; son, Robert Houston Gamble of Maryville; grandchildren, Robbie and Katie Gamble, April Cooper, Michael Bryant and Tyler and EricBromley; and one brother. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Providence Presbyterian Church with Rev. Philip Bembower officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. The interment will be in Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Providence Presbyterian Church, 703 W. Broadway, Maryville, Tenn. 37801 or to Maryville College, 503 E.
