SLOAN, MARY A. - age 65, of Madisonville, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2003, at her home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Madisonville. Preceded in death by eldest son, Edward Sloan parents, Albert A. and Alice White sisters, Elvena White and Dorothy White half-sisters, Evadne Williams, Lorena Stephens, Sara Malone brother, Lewis White half-brothers, Lloyd White, J.B. "Bee" White. Survivors include husband of 42 years, Gerald R. Sloan of Madisonville son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Donna Sloan of Cookeville sisters and brother-in-law, Edith Presley of Sweetwater, Gladys and Sam of Concord, Oneida and Arthur Gibson of Shadydale, Ga. brother and sister-in-law, William "Bill" and Agnes White of Tunnel Hill, Ga. father and mother-in-law, Royce and Ruby Sloan of Madisonville sister-in-law, Linda Huffman of Sweetwater, and several nieces and nephews. The body is at Kyker Funeral Home, Sweetwater, where the family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. in Kyker's Chapel with Rev. Tim Gray officiating. Interment 10:00 a.m. Friday in the Sweetwater Valley Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
