Matthew Wallace Morgan, of Knoxville, joined his heavenly Father at the early age of 47, on September 12, 2012. He was a graduate of Bearden High School, University of Tennessee, and Mercer University: where he earned a Doctorate of Pharmacology degree. He was a dedicated pharmacist at Walmart and Sam’s Club for 21 years. He was a Christian who enjoyed playing golf at Tellico Village, going to the theater with his wife and son, and was an avid Tennessee Football fan. He was a loving husband, father, son, and brother. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Morgan; son, Ty Morgan; father and mother, Dr. and Mrs. Travis E. Morgan; brother, Travis E. Morgan, Jr. (Chip); sister and brother-in-law, Melissa and Rusty Hutcheson; nephews: Kit and Morgan Hutcheson; niece, Katy Hutcheson, all of Knoxville, and many other nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. Funeral service 10 a.m. Wednesday at The Episcopal Church of the Ascension with Reverend Dr. Howard J. Hess officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to a charity of your choice.
