Robert Williamson, age 71, of Maryville, went to be with his heavenly father on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Born January 6, 1942, in the Six Mile area of Maryville, he was the son of the late Rufus and Dorothy Williamson. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Alcoa. He retired in 1998 after 31 years from the City of Alcoa Sanitation Department. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jack Williamson. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Matthew Tyler; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Melinda Williamson; grandson, Zachary Tyler; ex-wife and mother of his children, Lorene Webb; brothers, Joe and Ralph Williamson; sister, Carolyn Best. Special thanks to the Blount Memorial Hospice for their loving care. Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2013, at Central Baptist Church, Alcoa, with the Rev. Greg Kelly officiating. Interment will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Clark’s Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at Central Baptist Church, 9625 Springbrook Road, Alcoa.
