Nellie Davis Franklin, age 85, of Maryville, went to be with the Lord, Monday evening, March 29, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family and friends. She was a member of Chilhowee Primitive Baptist Church “Red Top”. Preceded in death by her husband, James L. Franklin; parents, James and Mae Davis; 6 brothers; and 6 sisters. Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Betty Jo and Bobby Holder of Greenback; son, James A. “Mudge” Franklin of Maryville; daughter, Gale Goforth of Greenback; son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Barbara Franklin of Maryville; son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Tammie Franklin of Maryville; brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence and Bonnie Davis of Tallassee; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and lots of other family and friends. A special thanks to Dr. Mandrell, Dr. Alexander, all the nurses at Morning View, Home Health Amedysis, Ruth Steele, Gaynell and Murphy Russell, Don and Roma Fritts, her granddaughter, Karen Coffee, and a very special thanks to her daughter, Betty Jo for all the special care she has given to our mother. Funeral service at 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Miller Funeral Home, Cedar Chapel, with Rev. Joe Stinnett officiating. The interment will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Chilhowee Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery “Red Top”.
