Longtime member of Hopewell Springs Baptist church, an accomplished musician and magician. Member of The Society of American Magicians. Survivors: wife, Joyce Sloan Steele; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Lee Steele; mother, Anna Mae Steele; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and James O. Watson, Vina Sue and Jim Kirkland, Sandra and Sam Boone, all of Madisonville, Ruby and Ted Crawford of Noblesville, IN; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roscoe and Kaye Steele, Tom and Leslie Steele, Bobby and Yvonne Steele; mother-in-law and best buddy, Polly Sloan; brother-in-law and wife, Charles and Dot Sloan, all of Madisonville; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Preceded in death by father, Verbal Steele; nephew, Ralph Watson and father-in-law, Ray Sloan. Funeral 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Biereley-Hale Chapel, Rev. Doug Anderson officiating.
